There are 3 secession, Wednesday night from 6:00 to 7:30 beginning March 25th.  While I’ve taught this class for several years, I’ll be making some changes and adding emphasis on an all-year flowering garden. That is, in our region of California most of our native plants flower from late winter through early summer. What about the rest of the year? During summer through winter our native hillsides and native gardens can look pretty stressed but there are still some natives that only flower this time of the year. The summer flowering natives make up a very small percentage of naturally flowering plants but in your garden that doesn’t have to be the case.

By increasing the quantity of our California native plants that flowering in summer through the early winter months you can have a colorful garden all year. You will also have interesting wildlife in your garden all year too. You see in our region of California with our mild climate you can have effectively two beautiful and different gardens in the same place.
