Native to coastal southern California and extending inland. Easy to grow in full sun or part shade. Trim back when it looks like it “needs a hair cut”.

Most important factor is that these flower in fall and into early winter with bright yellow bursts, making them excellent nectar plants for butterflies and bees.  If you are creating a butterfly garden this is one to add.
