Trip to the Santa Barbara Botanical Delayed!!!!!

WE’LL NEED TO RESCHEDULE OR VISIT, FOR OBVIOUS REASONS IT’S CLOSED.

I’LL POST WHEN THEY’VE REOPENED ….JUST THE WAY IT IS.

(If your interested email me and I’ll put you on our list so if anything changes I can let you know. Also, the day before I’ll confirm and give you my cell just in case!)

Every year we go visit the Santa Barbara Botanical Garden once or twice. Generally in spring and again in fall/winter. Yes, spring is the best and we’ll be up there March 22nd, at the entrance at the crack of 1:00.  This year it should be a fairly big crowd as we’ll have some of my students from the classes I teach at the Conejo Valley Adult School and friends and family. You’re also welcome to bring your family and friends too.  I get to be your guide. Allocate roughly 2 to 3 hours and bring your camera. And some time at the end as some how we always end up at the gift store and I end up at their nursery. They should also be well stocked for their spring sale too.

This is the best time of year about as good as it gets. Here are some pictures from past visits we’ve done with small groups (and large too).

Spring in the meadow, looking through some western columbine.

Our spokes model in front of one of the many stands of matilija poppies.

And some of there pacific coast irises- I like ours better but they do have some too.

Getting the cameras ready!

The patio gardens, behind the library – take a look.

Our spokes model making sure that our group moves along…..no lost children or adult children.

There are also beautiful garden across the street where they hold events. These gardens are more traditional/formal with “straight lines” and larger groupings of fewer things. Examples for your home garden too!

Where it all ends up. The Gift Store and for me the nursery across from the gift store. It’s a sickness but a good one!
